Moon of the Blackberry

Much of July is the Moon of the Blackberry. Learn how to identify different types of blackberries and their medicinal uses. Many berries ripen during this moon, including red huckleberries, gooseberries, and strawberries. Moon of Blackberry is a busy time of harvesting and preserving foods such as jams. Often the sap of cedar trees stops running, signaling cedar bark harvest time. Sockeye salmon runs often reach their peak during this moon.
